Metal represents strength and the knowledge of the people who withdraw it from the earth and fabricate it. The curriculum provides the strength underlying all teaching of language and culture—the application of critically related skills obtained through years of experience.
Program Development
A comprehensive, functional curriculum provides the key to Chinese immersion education. The CAIS Institute builds on the success of the curriculum work done by the Chinese American International School, which was designated the “national prototype for the teaching of Chinese at the pre-collegiate level” by the U.S. Office of Education.
We develop curricula based on the CAIS model, evaluate other curricula and offer a broad set of resources to assist schools, districts and organizations in developing their own curricula.
We also offer a comprehensive online resource library for the study of curriculum development, evaluation and analysis.
