AP® Chinese Class
This intensive course offers the essential tools needed to successfully complete the AP Chinese exam. Using a balanced curriculum and a content-based approach, this college-level course will provide students with ongoing and varied opportunities to further develop their Chinese language proficiency at the advanced level by building vocabulary, and improving both verbal skills and writing mechanics.
Students will gain a complex understanding of upper-level sentence and speech patterns. Reading, writing, and conversation skills will be reinforced within a cultural frame of reference reflective of the richness of Chinese language and culture. Thematic units include topics such as Chinese history, government and politics, traditional and contemporary literature, and composition. Timing, accuracy, and crucial test-taking strategies are also a main component of the course.
Fall Semester: September 5, 2008--December 13, 2008 (No class on November 28 & 29, December 19, 20, 26, & 27)
Spring Semester: January 2, 2008– May 2, 2009 (No class on January 23 & 24)

Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
